newly banded in mexico

Recommended Posts

Hi I am newly banded. Just banded on January 16, 2007 in Mexico by Dr. de la Garza. It was a great experience going through him I am just learning to adapt to this stage of liquid eating and its difficult sometimes. I haVe 3 children who all need to eat and its so tempting to want to eat something solid when your still on liquids. My next step is finding someone here in Florida that I want to do my fill. I live in north Florida so if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Aside from the smells of solid foods everyone else is eating and the itching from my incisions, so far all is well.

Hi bandqueen! Congrats on your surgery! I am glad to hear that you had a good experience. I will be banded on the 30th-10 more days. I too have children(4) who will need to eat and am anticipating this to be difficult when I won't be at that stage. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted. Gigi

Hi Donna,

I'm right there with you (even the 3 kid part) I was banded on the 12th in Mexico, and luckly have been given a pretty casual post-op diet, but I have already caught my self many times by spitting out a grape while making the kids lunches or spitting out Cake batter while making the Birthday cake!~ it's habit. Which got me in trouble in the first place I'm sure but still hard to break. I almost went with De La Garza, glad to hear it went well.

If you haven't already done so join us over on the January Banded link.

Take Care

Sara

I don't know what I would do without having cobanders to talk with especially ones that I have just had bands placed at the same time as myself. Trying to talk to family members and friends is frustating sometimes they aren't going through this and every sip of liquid I put into my mouth is being questioned. I know they only mean well but it is frustating. As far as joining the january bandsters, hope i'm doing the right thing. I'm not sure if I'm navigating this site like I should. I know it's not rocket science but I think my nerves are just a little frayed right now with everything.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
