loveelaura 52 Posted September 24, 2013 Hi everyone! Can you weigh in on flying shortly after surgery? I'll be flying from Chicago to Oklahoma City for surgery so only a 2 hour flight. Will be 5 days after surgery. My doc already told me to walk every hour to help with clots and will be giving me a blood thinner. What I really want to hear though is YOUR story on flying. Was it miserable waiting to fly out? Awkward getting patted down by security? Any tips for me ? Sent from my iPhone using VST
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted September 24, 2013 Flew from SanDiego to Boston. No issues whatsoever. I got an aisle seat so that I could get up and walk frequently during the flight.
TapSnap 357 Posted September 24, 2013 I flew about a month and half after surgery and was fine. I got a 11 hour tattoo 5 days after surgery. so I am sure a two hour flight will be fine. lol
Pattie1966 35 Posted September 24, 2013 I just flew to Mexico on Sept 12th and had surgery on the 13th from St Louis. The return flight was fine. I was tired so I slept a lot. I did get up a couple times and walked to the bathroom. I had no problems with blood clots. Did feel great to get off the plane. Good luck to you.
