Turning a corner with hair loss?.

Recommended Posts

When does the hair loss start? I know it will be different for everyone but just wanting to get an idea. I am not looking forward to it. :(

for me at about 3 months. I'm at 4 1/2 now and I hope it stops soon!

Mine started at 3 months and I am 5 months out this week. Most people get some hair loss, but it can be negligible through to more serious.

But keep this in perspective, there are things you can do to minimise how it looks if your hair thins. I have used Toppick which is keratin fibres in a powder you puff into the roots of your hair. It instantly creates the look of fuller hair. Ironically, I have been getting compliments about my hair and how well its looking so it seems that onlu I know there's never been so little of it :-) But what I have is shiny cos I have been eating so much Protein and taking my Vitamins, lol....

Indigo: Sleeved May 23/cw: 194, This has been a real trial for me, too....i was already thin and when my hair started falling out 2 weeks after surgery it was scary.....and it has been scary ever since. BUT...just like you...today was the FIRST day my hair wasn't all over the counters and clumps in my comb. So happy about that; and it just might be for TODAY, but i will take it! I'd do it all over again even knowing that i would lose so much hair. Toppix is my best friend and i use rogaine to keep the follicles healthy. I quit stylng my hair last week and just use curling creme and let it be. I know it will cease at some point and grow back and i can live with that.....

Mine has slowed down too. I had medium thick hair so it hasn't been noticeable. Just bought my first size 16 in 20 years. I have lost 90 lbs since may 1. People really noticed at work my weight loss because my clothes fit! They saw that I was losing before but with the yoga pants I got you can see that my legs are really smaller. I am loving it! Keep the faith girls and boys. If my blood works comes back good this week I will get rid of 3 more pills and only be down to thyroid and vitamins! This is the real reason I did this. I hopefully not be dead from something stupid at a not so old age .i hope to like a few more years and have fun in the process.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
