An egg and a chicken sausage is way too much food for so early out. Embrace your sleeve, and really enjoy the smaller portions that you have now.

My Breakfast is always 1 whole egg and a pinch of cheese. 100 calories.

I'm 10 months out.

At two weeks out you should be crushing pills' date=' maybe putting it in applesauce like half an ounce? To be honest with you I was so shocked by all that you're attempting to eat and the whole sausage thing that I stopped reading lol but yes try crushing the pills.[/quote']

I guess I'll be on the hunt for a pill crusher... I don't understand why pills, & soft food are so hard to get down .. I've never had this problem pre-sleeve. It's not not like my throat/ esophagus has gotten smaller as well... & lol ... I think I got excited about being able to eat and wasn't realistically thinking what I should attempt honestly I forgot to purée the sausage which was my original thought but i know that it's not a great choice & especially at this stage... I actually got that idea from a veteran sleever but they weren't 2 weeks post- op as I've said it was an error and poor choice on my part.

This is what I take. It's smaller than an altoid and tastes like butt. You can chew it up and knock it back with a small sip of Water. It's helping me get my Vitamin levels back up.

How are you taking the pills? I've been taking whole pills since the day after surgery. I take one at a time' date=' 5 minutes between pills. Capsules I put in so they aren't going down sideways. I don't eat around pills, the only thing I take around food is Vitamins.[/quote']

Yes I've found taking them 5 minutes a part with multiple sips really helps.. I don't eat around the pills either .. I do eat with my Multivitamin which is Gummy and goes down fine... Some nights are better than others but I normally try at night prior to bed as that was my routine pre-sleeve.. Thanks for your advice.

I'm at 7 weeks out. I eat at or less than 700 calories but I have to do that over 5 meals. So each meal is about 150 calories which is very little food at one time. A lot of times' date=' my entire meal could be one egg and that's it. As to drinking, for the first few weeks, I set a timer after my meals. As soon as 30 mins were up, I picked up my cup and started sipping. It's a lot of timing and planing at first! But it gets to be more second nature over time. HTH[/quote']

Thanks a lot For your advice !!

You should ask your NUT about crushing the pills. At 1 week out my surgeon said I could take pills or capsules as long as they weren't horse pills, but I didn't have any Fluid restriction. If it's difficult for you to get in fluids then you may need to crush your pills.

That's to much food. Plus I'm almost a 13 months out and I can't drink for 1.5 hours or more after eating.

I can't do much more than on egg at a time, unless I just eat the egg whites. If I do that, I can get closer to about 3 eggs of just the egg white. I can do about one piece of chicken sausage (sometimes 3/4 of one) before I'm full. So I can't imagine trying to fit both a piece of the sausage and an egg in one meal. It would be too much for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
