beccakatherine 1 Posted September 23, 2013 I started purred foods on Friday, ever since then I have had mild heartburn does this usually go away after a while or should I call my doc in the AM and see if I should start taking something?
T'snewstart 251 Posted September 23, 2013 I would call your Dr. I have had to take meds for acid since the day of surgery. Best Wishes
FRED1977 186 Posted September 23, 2013 OTC Prilosec and antacids should do the trick your stomach is just about gone anything you eat or drink may upset it for a while.
Veruca Salt 31 Posted September 23, 2013 You can have Prilosec but not anti-acids. I have had heartburn since the day of surgery and I spoke with my surgeon. You can take 40 mg of the Prilosec. Good luck to you.
PoohSoup0803 45 Posted September 23, 2013 I have been taking a medication called protonix since the day of surgery. It is one pill a day before you eat anything in the morning and it keeps all of the heart burn away. There have been a few days when I have forgotten to take the pill and I paid for it big time. This medication is by prescription only. You should definitely check with your surgeon. 1 SuperFab reacted to this
