I just hope that with the sleeve I won't have problems with Portion Control.< /p>

Your sleeve will "teach" you portion control, because you'll feel really lousy if you eat too much. So even if it takes some learning in the beginning, you'll figure it out.

I get the hiccups when I'm full. As soon as I hiccup my friends and/or family fight for my leftovers!! LOL I also tried on boots today and was able to fit them over my calves!! I'm so excited to dress for the fall. Good luck this is definitely the journey of a lifetime.

I was sleeved last year and I was happy to put on boots that wasn't stretchy. I am still amaze that I can wear size medium and some small blouses. I also like the fact that I can wear bracelets.

There are lots of small or little things that have surprised me: doing a double take if I catch my reflection unexpectedly- sometimes I don't recognize myself. Worrying about buying small enough clothes because they will be too big in a few months. Being able to do things effortlessly. Regaining mobility makes all the difference. Seeing your knees stick up when you lay down because all the fat that was around them is gone. These are just a few of the small things that I didn't know about or have discovered along the way.

Omg, I do the double take too. Lol. So strange. I am a 15 months out. I wonder when that will stop.

I'm taller in the kitchen, shorter in the car, and my nose had grown.

With my stomach out of the way I can reach things on higher shelves. And my husband and I used to be able to drive the van with the seat in the same position. I had so much natural padding in the rear. Now the more I lose the more I have to move the car seat up to reach the pedals. My face keeps getting slimmer, and now my nose looks bigger!

I noticed these changes years ago with weight loss from my band. Now I'm losing more weight and I have to move the car seat up more. I'm feeling claustrophobic getting so close to the steering wheel!

I never thought about the car seat. That's a good point. Well I guess the question is do you like your face slimmer? I'm sure you look great!!

I have "the little things that make you smile" moments a few times a month now. I am down over 90 lbs in 7 months so you can imagine its like I'm a new person. My new favorite " little things" that happened this week is........ the nurse used a regular size cuff to take my blood pressure and they gave me a regular gown NOT the jumbo gown that snaps together. I had a huge **** eatin grin on my face when I noticed the cuff and she asked what was so funny.....

I'm like you. I can't wait until I can get tall boots over my calves!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
