I'm new here!! Found out about this App from a great friend that had her surgery done in Houston!! She looks awesome by the way:) as for me I am looking into going to Cancun and getting my sleeve done. A little nervous expecting to go with Dr. Perez. Has anyone gone with him before and how was everything? I got my quote already and wanted to go soon not sure when. HELP!

I used DR Perez and I really liked him. You might want to read some of my other posts. If you are picky about the hospital, you might not like Clinica Victoria because it is pretty small. But I had no problems and I'm doing fine 3 months later.

Alright guys just talked to Dr.Ortiz yesterday!!!!! So excited he sounds so sweet on the phone. With a matter of emails back and forth with Lori I was able to have Dr. Ortiz call me in between surgeries to answer any of my questions:) let me tell you!!! He answered everything!!! He knows his STUFF!! Can't wait ladies will be purchasing the pre-op supplements. Just a little confused on how many to buy!! Or if anyone knows of a cheaper route but then again I want to do if the right way to make sure that I am physically ready for surgery. I am reaching out for March 7th to take off that way, would love a buddy, I will be going solo:/ but again talking with Dr. Ortiz it just reassured me that I was making the right choice!!!

Super excited!!!!!

Dr. Ortiz (Ariel) most definitely knows his stuff and the other surgeons in his office are phenomenal! You are in great hands. I had my surgery at OCC on 12/16 and had a great experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask or pm me if you like, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks so much!! It's tough right now knowing that I need to change my eating habits even now to lose weight before surgery:( That truly means a lot to me to know that I will be in great hands, like I said before I will be going solo and yes nerves are kicking in but i still have a month to prepare myself!! Thanks so much!! I just now need to find me a buddy to be with:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
