Greetings to you all! I am really curious as people always assume I am older than I am; which is not a bad thing. So I want to do a little experiment' date=' I want to post a picture of myself now, pre-surgery and see how old you think I am. This is not something where you say oh, 19, and think 29 haha. I want the hard numbers that you genuinely see. I want to see if I age from weight loss or lose years. I am attached a few pictures taken within the last year. Thank you for your honesty. Also yes, the little boy is my nephew. Love him so much!![/quote']

So how old are you????

And the answer is…….........

Since all these pictures were taken in the last 6 months, and are all pre-op, I am the same age in all of them.

Drum roll....... 29!

My birthday is September 14, 1984

When I was 13, I was always asked to buy cigarettes for people who were under age. I have never been carded since that age.

When I met my husband, I was 21, he was 36 at the time. He thought I was 28, so he had no problem dating me. Boy was he surprised haha!

Thank you everyone for participating! I am so exited to come back after my surgery in Halloween 6 mo- a year later. Of course there will be progress pics along the way. Yay!

You are all awesome!

Darn...Iwasthisclose!!!

Shoot, I almost said 29 but then went with 28...haha!

Anyway, my personal opinion is that fat ages us. No matter what we look like the fat somehow distorts us and makes us older than what we are. I've seen it so many times here with before/after photos where the "after" photo shaves at least 10 years off a person. It's exciting to see!

Hopefully you will get a chance to turn back that clock and people will be thinking you are 19! ;)

Cool - my guess of 30-31 was pretty close. Everyone should try out the RealAge app and report back what it tells them about their age.

Perhaps start a thread?

I just did it and am happy to say it came back at 1.3 years younger than my actual age. 42.1. Yeah!

:-D

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
