Band07 374 Posted September 21, 2013 Did anyone feel hungry right after surgery? Like literally in the recovery room ? Maybe I'm feeling something else from everything they did in there or maybe it's just in my head lol. I'm still in hospital but hoping to go home today. Doc said surgery went great, and I'm feeling pretty good unless I cough. I even refused my pain meds this morning. Now just hoping it continues
dbelardo 4 Posted September 21, 2013 I felt hungry, after the test to make sure there were no leaks a few sips of Soup and apple sauce and i was happy. I too didn't need any pain meds (used gasx for 3 days though - THAT was not a joyful feeling *l*). I am 30 days out now (down about 24 pounds). I "nibble" throughout the day - I only want a few bites or rather NEED only a few bites.I am back to eating normal foods but finding as time goes on I just eat because i have a knawing in my stomach and I walk 1 hr - 2 hrs a day on my treadmill (i break it up into 3-4 sessions). I juice 2x a day and it takes me all day to finish off 2 glasses. I did have "head" hunger the first week while on Clear liquids. I was drinking a cup of broth every hour it seemed. I don't like processed foods so I did without the Jello and Protein shakes. But I am doing well on vegetarian fare. Since I can eat Beans now and I do the green smoothies and juices I feel much better. Good Journey! Dominga 1 Band07 reacted to this
