I have a question please which seem silly

Recommended Posts

My rings are in my jewelry box. I have a very petite custom engagement ring. I talked my now husband into something smaller, but custom that we worked with the jeweler to design. I have to have him size it, as it is a pressure set ring, so unless I want to have a big gob of white gold added to the interior of my ring making it heavy and uncomfortable, I will just wait to have it sized. I am going down nearly 3 sizes. But I want to be at goal 6 months, and know for sure that my weight is stable, the jeweler told us sizing is really only a one time thing with this ring. So I didn't wear it while pregnant, and now that it's huge on me, I have it in a locked jewelry box.

Please, please, please don't wear stainless steel rings. They are nearly impossible to get off if you break or badly cut your finger. Bone is much easier to cut than stainless steel....and you don't want to lose that battle with your jewellery!

As for the topic at hand...yes, you lose weight in your hands. And, I had always heard that women like shoes so much because you don't gain weight in your feet, so it's your one size that stays relatively stable. That is a LIE! I have bad feet, so all of my shoes are very expensive, and I looked long and hard for each and every pair. I'm really sad at saying goodbye to some of them...not sad enough to put the weight back on, though!

My calves are still "ginormous" lol :P

Ughhh, thanks for this information. I was hoping to NOT have to see my neighborhood cobbler anymore for calf extensions on my boots. Time will tell...

My rings in my early 20's were I 5 and I think they are now a 9. I also have huge calves and cankles! URGH. I have a skinny picture from age 20 where my calves look great and hoping they will again.

Yes, they got thinner for me. My ring size was a 10, now it is a 6.5. It is very nice not to have sausage fingers anymore! ;)

Oh I hope this happens for me too!!! I also wear a size 10 (or 9.5). I want to wear pretty rings but my fat fingers just look fatter with rings right now

This very interesting. Even though I weigh 266, my fingers are not too big. I wear a 7 ring.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
