I'm about to enter my 4th week post op and have not had any issues so far. I took 2 weeks off (3 days 2 nights were spent in the hospital) for the sleeve. I'm back at work with no issues. Plus walk 5 days a week with no issues. Everyone sleeve journey is differnt though.

That's good news! I had my sleeve on July 15, then went back into the hospital for some complications and returned back to work 9 Weeks from my original date. I missed today because i had problems wee hours this morning and my stomach is hurting really bad. I just hope they dont fire me!

I am concerned about my turn around time back to work after my sleeve surgery. I wok in a very active, stressful job. Hopefully I can just return on light duty for a few weeks.

my doctor gives 6 weeks off to recoup. I still felt a sore spot in my tummy but it went ok until just recently. I'm 3.5 months post op and might have some issues. I file FMLA paperwork at work to protect my job because you never know how much time you may need to get back to 100%.

my job is stressful and i need to be on top of things. so taking pain meds that make me drowsy are out of question. probably why i took so many weeks off

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
