TMI topic for August Sleevers (8/20)

Recommended Posts

Sorry about the nature of this post, but need input. I was sleeved on 8/20. Two weeks later found out I have a clot between my stomach and liver that will take at least 3 months to dissolve. That aside, my recovery has gone well. I have even gotten back on track with daily bowel movements. The thing is, they are pretty dark, darker than I've ever seen before. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Consistency-wise, they're normal. Just an unusual dark greenish/black color.

Anyone else seeing this?

Appreciate any input you may have!

This paragraph is from a Livestrong article on the internet. It never hurts to call your doctor with questions, but nevertheless, here's some info for those of us taking supplements.

Medications

Several medications and Vitamin supplements can also lead to green stools. Individuals who routinely take laxatives, Iron supplements, medicines and Vitamins containing cholorophyll, and any medication or Vitamin that contain fructose can experience green bowel movements. Stool color should return to normal once use of these products is discontinued.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
