Have you ever slightly sped up your food stages?

Recommended Posts

And you see, that's the weird thing. Every doctors office has their own special "rules" and regulations. I have talked to pleanty of people who started eating cottage cheese on the 7th day. Technically I can eat this in a few days, I'm just speeding it up a little bit. Thank you for your input.

Every doctor's office makes up a set of rules that they feel will work best for their patients. I think it is not a good thing to pick and choose from everyone's doctor's requirements and find the most lenient. You should stick with the recommendations from your own doctor. During this time your body is healing, and you are losing weight and you are learning a new way of eating. Since you ate the fat-free cottage cheese, you body is probably still healing and you are probably still losing weight, so there's no harm in those two areas, but on the other hand, by going against the plan your doctor has laid out for your, you are cheating yourself out of learning the new way of eating. It will make it easier in the future to go against what you doctor has laid out for you, and it will make it easier to rationalize other behaviors in the future that will be working against your own long-term best interests. You had an opportunity to enhance your self-discipline and you did not do that.

Right now you have a honeymoon period with the sleeve where you are not as hungry as you will be in the future. I encourage you to take advantage of that opportunity by developing the best eating practices that you possibly can.

Well, while I do think everyone has a point, we are all different. I think the only thing u might have done different is ask your doctor first, since he/she seems to be available. I had surgery in Mexico and was given all of the post surgical eating plans and information in a handout. Mine said Clear Liquids 10 days post op. I followed the pre op diet, but by day 7 of post op I was shaking and had a headache, etc. after reading everything I can and researching I decided to start the Protein Shakes on day 8. I am now on day 9 and I feel great. I think for me that trusting myself and listening to my body is important. Of course, I am planning to continue to be vigilant with the overall plans and track my food and exercise on fitness pal, but sometimes your body is letting you know what t needs and maybe for you the cottage cheese was it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
