So I go for followups at my doctors office and im loosing about a pound a week. We are given a calorie equation and if the foods you eat arent under a certain amount they are considered "bad foods"

I have calculated all sorts of nuts and they calculate as "unhealthy" I guess due to fat content? Does anyone else eat nuts? What kinds? This.is fairly sad to me since nuts have been a staple for me...and keep me full a little till I can reach actual food

Nuts are one of my favorite Snacks. I do the lightly cocoa covered almonds from Sam's club. It satifies so many cravings in a few delicious bites. I have issues following what the doctors say, only because EACH One tells you something different. At first my latest doc (my clinic has been through 3) told me to pretty much go vegan allowing meat only once a week. I started doing that..during my follow up last month, he told me not to.. GRR

So me, I am mainly focus on my portion sizing. My scale has continually gone down and I've maintained where I'm at. My clothes are still getting loose. So my theory, do what works for YOU. All of our bodies are different and adjust to the sleeve differently. Just careful with the portions darling...

I eat nuts... Mostly ground almonds to cook as a 'flour' substitute and then my second favourite, which is macadamia nuts. I only have them occasionally and about 5 or so. I find they really satisfy my hunger and I know I'm fuelling my body with healthy fat too

My doctor actually recommends eating nuts. They are a good source of Protein. He recommends limiting the amount though because they are also high in fat.

I also eat nuts as a snack. 1 portion of almonds (28 almonds) have about 160 calories. Usually 1/2 that amt satiates me fine. Its 80 calories which is a great amount for any snack.

I bought some of the cocoa covered ones recently. They are good. And they'll satisfy a chocolate craving u may have. What's the calorie limit u were given? Surely its at least 100 calories. Remember, u have a smaller stomach so 1/2 a serving of whatever should be enuf

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
