Goodbye band hello sleeve ! So much anxiety ! Surgery tomorrow !

Recommended Posts

6 yrs 1 month and 16 days ago you changed my life and I want to thank you for that. I would have never got to where I am without you. We've had a good run of it though as with any relationship we've had our ups and downs. You've been my best friend and my worst enemy but I've never once regretted knowing you. its bittersweet but this love/hate relationship is not working for me anymore. Tomorrow we must part ways though please don't take it personally. Ill never forget all you've done for me but I have to do what's right for me and my health. Goodbye old friend. Hello new friend ...I'm hoping that Iv made the right decision and anxious to start a new chapter.. Surgery tomorrow at 12:30 ????????????

i had my revision last monday 9/16 and I must say the absolute worst part is the drive to the hospital! my revision was much easier than the band probably because i did not have much gas in my shoulders, as i did with the band! i was discharged yesterday and taking nothing for pain. i know some people recover differently. the only thing sore is the side where my port was. good luck to you!

Good luck to you! And asauv is right, the worst part is the hours before surgery. The rest is smoother sailing. You were nice to your band, you said such lovely words to yours. Me, I didn't like mine so much,I only had it 15 months..but that was a long enough relationship.

I wish you well tomorrow and look forward to seeing how you're recovering and how you feel with your NEW relationship :)

I felt the same way about my band. Was grateful that I lost 104 lbs with it but also ungrateful for all the misery it caused (slip). My revision was worse than my band surgery. Dr told me it would be more painful cuz it took him an extra 30 mins to DIG my band outa my stomach. It had embedded in there. So I think that was the reason for the post op pain. I took my liquid Vicodin for 12 days. My lapband was easy peasy compared.

So glad I did it tho. Haven't vomited but once (my fault) since being sleeved 10 weeks ago. Vomited almost everyday with my band. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
