I am 9 days post op and can't believe the nightmare is real. I can't seem to tolerate anything. I spend my day trying to keep anything down and removing from heaving and vomiting. Drs office just says sip,walk,sip,walk.... What I am but the nausea just overwhelms everything. I was already readmitted for dehydration . It's 1:40 in the morning . I'm writing this and prayer for my stomach to stop flipping. Please help if you can with any suggestions. I am taking anti-nausea meds (Zoran, raglan ans effrontery) and know they help because without their streaky stream I end up doubled over on the floor begging the universe to make it stop,

Go to your drs office and tell him something is terribly wrong. By this time things should be a lot better. If they see the agony you are in in person they will run some tests. Who was your dr? May God bless you and ease your suffering.

You need to go to your doctor's office today. I wouldn't even call for an appointment. I'd show up and they'd get me back there to see the Dr because they are not going to want potential patients to see a prior patient suffering. Bad for business.

Go today and see what's going on. Keep us posted, hun

Hang in there! I hope it all gets better soon. I was feeling some nausea from drinks that were too warm, so I switched to cold and was able to get by. Other people have the exact opposite - warm is good but they can't tolerate the cold drinks. So, maybe trying different temps could help. Good luck - definitely go see the doc if this continues.

Thank you all! The nausea finally broke on post op day 9. It really was amazing within the span of an hour the nausea dissipated. Since, liquid diet is in swing. My incisions still ache ( from all the retching) but I am sleeping and meeting the Protein and Water goals.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
