You can also crush them.

Or get special bariatric Gummy ones.

Or they make liquid ones.

My nut lets us use the gummy flintstones until 2 months out & then were expected to go back to regular Centrum ones w/Iron & either swallow them whole or cut in half.

I guess they say regular ones too soon make you feel sick like too full & have the stuck feeling & feeling of bricks on your chest.

allons-y

I was never told to use chewable vitamins, but large pills can be very uncomfortable going down and they take up valuable space in our little tummies. :) Most chewables make me gag, so I take gelcaps.

Stay clear of Bariatric Choice berry flavored. They are disgusting.

I've been taking Gummy multi-vites, gummy Calcium with D3, and gummy B12, prilosec capsule daily. Never really had any hard and fast rules about the type to take just to not have pills this early post-op....I'm 4 weeks.

Not to sound yucky... But anyone told to use Vitamin suppositories? I've been researching and came across some literature on their use with bariatric patients. Any thoughts?

This is the website that we order from here in Southern Illinois, it was the one the doctors recommended! chewable vitamins and the Upcal for Calcium, 2 packets a day. You can put them in your shakes. Also our dietician said always take your calcium 2 hours before of after your Vitamin, because calcium or Iron is a binder and taken together they will not absorb properly:)

Just what I follow:)
