Okay guys please give me some feedback at what I am doing wrong! I had surgery just over a month ago and do not regret it at all!! However I have been dealing with some tummy issues! I am now lactose intolerant which sucks big time so I am now staying away from dairy but am still getting sick to my stomach!! I get daily stomach pains and sorry for the info here but bad diarrhea... I have also thrown up twice from the stomach pain! I am still on soft foods, I eat slow and don't drink with my meals.... Has anyone else had these same problems and if so how did u deal with them??? Thanks for any insight :)

Do you take meds like Prilosic or Nexium in the mornings. If I don't take mine, I get nauseous very easily. I would call your doc and see if they could give you some anti-nausea meds. Definitely call your doc so you don't get dehydrated.

I had C-diff post op which is really nasty and causes similar symptoms. Check with your doctor and make sure that you don't have some type of gastro infection.

Yes, check with your MD. I had your symptoms in the second week, but they cleared. Was told to report diarrhea if more than 5x a day or it it continues.

Mine has cleared and all is OK.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
