Yesterday I learned to just take my pain meds around the clock and not let it get out of control. Today has been much better. Also take your zofran (or anti- nausea med) as often as u can to help w nausea. 1 red31 reacted to this
bnape29 30 Posted October 5, 2013 Also, red31 ~ unsweetened slightly chilled applesauce helped my nausea too (like an ounce.. I ate if w a toddler spoon)
red31 40 Posted October 5, 2013 Have you tried gas X strips? They've helped me a lot I've had a few. Just started that today. Anyone else having issues trying to drink? I'm suppose to be getting 64oz a day I've got up to about 28 so far. 1 sandcreeksleevr reacted to this
sandcreeksleevr 1 Posted October 5, 2013 I was sleeved Oct 1. I have sharp pains in the upper right quadrant every time I take a drink. I'm not nauseated at all and am keeping it all down. I can just feel everything I swallow move through me and hit like a punch in the gut when it gets to the upper right side. Normal?

I took zofran and they also have a nausea patch behind my ear. It suppose to last for three days. If this is the worst part I'll take it. My blood pressure has been normal ever since surgery and that's huge for me.

Maybe you could call your doctor and ask him. Hope it gets better soon.

Thank you- I went for a walk and took some GASX. Maybe I'm taking too big of drinks. If it doesn't get better, I will call.

sandcreeksleevr 1 Posted October 5, 2013 I had my surgery on 10/3. I was released yesterday. I'm hurting today and hoping it gets better with each day! It does get better. Take the pain meds, walk, and drink. I found the more I walked, the better I felt. Short, easy walks! Don't overdo it! :-)

I had surgery on the 1st and it took 2 days to want to even drink any liquids because of the way it made me feel. I'm still having a lot of gas pain. I bought gas x strips. I'm not sure if they are working. I think walking might help the gas a little. I'm trying to be patient. I'm sure it will go away in time.
