crodrigu73 13 Posted October 22, 2013 I was informed that by tomorrow at 1 pm I should have a finally decision (hoping an approval). I am so excited. Of course the doctor is out of the office on Tuesday, so on Wednesday I should know my surgery date. My paperwork was submitted early September so this has been a long time coming. I am glad I got my appeal in right away. 2 soonerorlater and dropdeadweightdiva reacted to this
purplefaery 48 Posted October 22, 2013 Hi, I'm scheduled for surgery on November 19th at Methodist hospital in St. Louis park,mn. Dr. Thomas Jones is my surgeon Yay! A Minnesota buddy! I'm not sure of my surgery date yet, all the paperwork was sent today for approval... The only possible hitch is that BCBS of MN requires 6 months of medically monitored weight loss. We are trying to use my physical with my PCP before I started being seen in the bariatric center as my first one - hopefully that all works! Everything else is clear to go for (hopefully) late November! So excited! My surgery will be with Dr. Jeff Baker at Unity Hospital.

capriqua 13 Posted October 22, 2013 I am very nervous. I have never been operated on. I M scared of the unknown and what to expect for my recovery. What about you
JeanZ_RN 378 Posted October 22, 2013 So my surgery is Nov 1st and I started this whole process the end of July. My doctor put me on a low calorie diet and exercise and I have lost 30lbs since. I started out at 249. I had to gain weight to get my BMI to 40 so my insurance would approve the surgery since I have no other problems. Now that I have lost this weight people are telling I should postpone the surgery, that I'm not that heavy and I should try again on my own!!! I am 40 years old and I truly feel like I have tried long enough of yo-yo dieting and I ready to start a new chapter in my life. I'm just wondering if any of you guys still feel like there's still a chance to do this on your own? Or are all of you 100% about this surgery no turning back? I'm excited, nervous and I feel like I'm making the right decision but it's hard when people put their two cents in ;( I had some of that ambivalence too, but I got over it quickly. I am ready to stop this yo-yo stuff, and the best way for me is to have the surgery. I have tried to lose weight on my own too many times, and my inability to stick to it over the long term is proof enough that IT'S NOT WORKING. Somebody famous said something like... Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. My surgery is scheduled for Nov 13th, and I'm EXCITED! 2 emsgma and mazzers120 reacted to this

Some days will be hard and there will be times when you have buyers remorse, but believe me it will pass when you see the weight melting off. Just wanted to wish you all good luck on your upcoming surgeries!! Top pic is day after surgery, bottom pic is what I look like now.
