Women what would u do?

Recommended Posts

Are you conflicted? If everyone round you had said yes, would you be firing ahead and donating your eggs? If so, then there is no conflict, you want to do this. However, you also want the approval of those who are around you. That's where the conflict lies.

I understand that, it's comforting when people agree with our decisions. But this is your decision. The money raised is for you to finish a process you started. As you said, you worked hard to get healthy - so why hesitate now? How will you feel if you let others views stop you?

I think you already know the answer and just want someone to tell you to go for it. But you have to be brave and make this decision for yourself. We can only live our life - no one else can do it for us, not even our friends who, no matter how close, have never walked a mile in our shoes...

Good luck!

Well said and if I were under 30 ( I think that's the age limit) I would totally go for it.

I think you should go for it.. I have 2 beautiful boys that were conceived in a petri dish, yes they were my eggs, but I would have thought about adopting eggs if i needed too.. You could bring so much joy to a family that is not able to have children..... Do your homework, trust your doctors, don't be afraid to ask questions. Who is paying for the fertility drugs??? They can be very costly!! Good luck with your decision.

I think you need to separate your issues. Finding the money to finish your journey can come from many sources so really you need to decide if you feel right about egg donation. A very personal decision indeed. If it is something that you feel right about and are emotionally OK with, then do it regardless of what you plan to use the money for. If you are considering it only as a way to finance your plastics, I would think re think it and make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.

Good luck with your decision making and congrats on your success!

I need everyone's honest opinion and any other advice or information you can share.

I went to a plastic surgeon to discuss the procedures I need. Long story short, with insurance and every discount that they are willing to give me the surgeries come out to 14,000.

My predicament is I don't have that kind of money. So, I now have an opportunity to make at least 8,000 dollars by donating my eggs

My husband is not keen on the idea but is leaving it up to me. I truly feel fine going forth, but a few friends are saying no definitely not.

I worked so hard to get healthy, now at 31 I want my body to look good. I'm beyond conflicted.....

You could give the gift of life to those who desperately desire and are willing to give a child a wonderful life. If you're not going to have kids or more kids.....I say....go for it! You deserve the fully healthy body you desire. I wish I was younger. I would do it. :-)

Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with donating your eggs. It helps desperate couples conceive who may not otherwise be able to do so. There are MUCH worse ways to make money! HOWEVER, I would warn you to thoroughly research the process before you jump into it. I read a little about the process a few years ago and I was shocked how complicated, long, and side-effect ridden it was. You end up getting quite a few hormone injections and you have everything from mood swings to hot flashes along the way. It takes (from what I remember) a few months of this process for each donation. So, make sure you're well-informed before you make up your mind. Good luck!

I would do it if I were you. As someone who may be in the market for someone elses eggs I think its only right you get paid for the hardship of donating them.

If you're done w/having kids or think you'll ok to have them after your done w/donating Go for it.

And thank you for considering donating.

Have yo u tried complaining to your doctor about the skin in a way where it makes you seem depressed. I know the nurse told me to start complaining as soon I start losing weight. She said that the will cover it if it is a psychological complaint

How do you find out how to donate your eggs? I've been wondering about this for a few months. I think it would help someone who cant have kids.

I would donate only if my husband was on board with the decision. I don't defer to him on my every decision, but this one does effect him. There are a lot of hormonal changes you're going to experience during the process and they will effect everyone in your house.

Good luck on your decision.

I think egg donation can be a wonderful thing. I am a second time surrogate, I decided to do a second surrogacy for two reasons: 1. It was a wonderful experience last time to be a part of creating a family, and 2. I plan to use a portion of my compensation to pay for my plastics (it's a WHILE off, still have to complete surrogacy, and be sleeved...but after so many babies and being overweight, very necessary!)

It is an involved process medically, and there can be a waiting period before your eggs are selected. If you are ok with those things, I say go for it! :-)

Well, so far I am not a match with one company for egg donation. I hope I get a match soon.

Sounds like you feel its the right thing to do then?

Congrats. I hope you find a match and get to make a couple very happy! :)

My $0.02: go for it! Think of all the families you will be helping, plus you'll receive a wonderful benefit to help you in your own life. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
