Had my surgery at 9:45 this morning, woke up in the recovery room around 1pm. He took out my gallbladder to which is why it took so long. I've already walked a few times and have been up to pee three times so the nurses seem happy with that.

Only ice chips so I'm crazy thirsty and the little heart monitor keeps going of which is getting annoying but the nurse listened to my heart with her stethoscope and she said everything was fine. Pain doesn't seem too bad. I went the first 5 hours in my room before I requested any and I've had more a couple times since then. Burping like a mad woman but nothing yet from the other end,v walking will help that I guess.

Gonna try to sleep some more before they come in and wake me up again!

Congrats! I was sleeved at 10:00 yesterday and others than incision soreness I am doing well. I had a narcotic thru my IV at 10pm last night but no heavy drugs since then - just liquid Tylenol. I want to stay off the heavy stuff so I can know what the pain will be like at home. I feel lucky today! It all went pretty good, and I don't feel horrible yet :) the next 4 days will still be a challenge. Good luck to you!

Omg my heart monitor kept going off too when I slept it was SO ANNOYING. In fact I was pretty grouchy to the nurse about it because it woke me up repeatedly.

Yup, I was already doing laps around the nurses station, kept down my Breakfast (2oz of Protein shake) and Water with no nausea and my pain is pretty minimal. He asked me if I wanted to stay another night but I got no sleep last night at all so would just rather sleep in my own bed and monitor my temp/blood pressure myself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
