Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted September 17, 2013 Today was the day. Surgery at 10:00 am. and apparently all went well. Now I'm sipping a Protein drink and liquid Tylenol alternately. I hope all my 9/16 sleeve buddies are doing great! 6 MIJourney, Dawnyellow, ejsfanatic and 3 others reacted to this

Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted September 17, 2013 Thanks! It's like 3am and things are going well, although I'm dozing more than sleeping. Can't wait to home to be comfy and really start recovering.

laffypatty 47 Posted September 17, 2013 I was also sleeved on 9/16! To me, the worst pain is in my upper left shoulder. It's gas pain and its a killer. At 4AM today I had a sugar free popsicle and that was the best darn popsicle I've ever eaten! I'm really hungry! I did full liquids Saturday, Clear Liquids Sunday and of course had nothing on day of surgery. Would love some broth. Best of luck to you in your recovery! 1 Shells_Almost_There reacted to this
Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted September 17, 2013 I am lucky so far - no gas pains except in my stomach. There are 2 other patients here in short stay who we're sleeved yesterday by my doc. I guess they have gas pains like mad. I feel for them, and you! No idea how I drew the lucky straw on that one! And wow, a s/f Popsicle sounds so good right now! I have cottonmouth like crazy. laffypatty 47 Posted September 17, 2013 Shells, do you have a pain ball attached to you? I have one attached directly to my stomach so I'm feeling little to no pain. It's filled with pain meds that go to the sutures. It will come home with me and deflate in three days. Best. Invention. Ever.
Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted September 17, 2013 I don't. Patty, that sounds amazing! They just came and drew blood so now I have a new owie. Lol!
laffypatty 47 Posted September 17, 2013 The vampires just came for me too!! It's so hard to rest in a hospital. I've been walking a lot. Feels good to walk. Helps with the gas pain. The heating pad on my shoulder is helping too. I want to try the Gas X strips but I haven't gotten the blessing from my doc yet
mlowell 39 Posted September 17, 2013 My doc ordered Mylicon drops (infant gas drops) for the hospital and home. Also ordered Levsin/hycosamine for stomach cramping......these two things got me through the first 5 days when things were bad. I have hardly had any surgical pain though. Congrats and good luck
