Need surgeon referral in South Bay area in Cali

Recommended Posts

Are you using insurance? Dr. Paul Cirangle is one of the best in the country. He's in your backyard.

Thank you for responding, I was starting to wonder if the posts were actually showing up. Not getting many follow ups.

No he takes insurance, so that's good..... I was just asking because he's pretty expensive if you are self-pay! You should definitely check him out.

Yes, his office is in San Francisco. Sorry, when you said South Bay Area, I assumed you meant South San Francisco Bay Area! He's still worth a call. Good luck!

Check into Ara Keshishian; he operates out of Glendale, but I believe that he does have an office in the South Bay area. He is one of the long experienced DS/sleeve surgeons around and would have been my choice had I not gone up to SF for my sleeve. Cirangle is great if you fit his ideal patient profile (SMO+/very high BMI), but if you don't, there are better choices. I went with the doc across the street (figuratively) from him as he fits my needs better. Look carefully at a doc's program to see how well it fits your needs, whether it can be tailored for your needs or is an assembly line operation.

Thanks, I will look him up. Is there a way for me to update thread? So I can be more specific about what city I'm in. This app is a little difficult to manipulate.

Just starting the process and nervous about the right surgeon. Looking in Torrance, Ca or Manhattan Beach, Ca area.

Without a doubt, I would have Dr. Houman Solomon do my surgery again! He is top in the field and is one of the few prestigious members of the ASMBS (see links below). Let me know if you have any questions (PM me) :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
