I stopped trying Protein Shakes around day 5 and didn't start again until I was nearly 2 weeks out. I did broth etc... But my one and only focus was Water. More important to prevent dehydration at this point. I found I felt much better hydrated, even lacking the Protein. Once I was able to hit my water goal and maintain it I added protein back in and I have felt great.

Go get some Isopure. It's light and has 2 grams of Protein per oz. You can mix into a crystal light if you don't like the taste or just Water it down. I drank it straight and just made myself learn to like it in the first few weeks after. Made all the difference in my recovery and energy levels.

Good luck to you and hang in there, it will get better!

You can try Pure Protein shot it has 42 grams.of protein in 3 ounces. The taste, let's say is unique, and the consistency is kind of like Syrup, but it is only 3 ounces.

I was also having a very hard time with Protein Shakes, not sure if it was the texture or the sweetness. I have recently discovered Nector Lemonade. OMG it is fantastic! Loaded with protein! I ordered the single serving packs and just throw them in my lunch box or purse. I have had it mixed with Water or iced tea (Arnold Palmer). I have also mixed it with crystal light squeezable favors. I ordered it from Amazon. Good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
