Lost weight lost boyfriend

Recommended Posts

At least for now. We are on a trial separation. I don't know if it has anything to do with my weight loss, but his anger directed towards me has been out of control. His words have been disrespectful. I think the difference is I have more confidence so I will not tolerate it. My friends think he's feeling threatened by my weight loss and acts on that. We have a son together so we might reconcile but only after a period of time and only if he does work to show he's changed. I am very torn up about this but just hoping it gets easier each day.

Aw that sucks. I'm so sorry. IT's a lot of adjustment for both partners. You decided to make a change that also impacts him, and he may or may not have wanted change. I'm sure you guys will work out what's best for each of you. Sending you strength and good wishes.

Weight loss aside, if you're finally able to step into your power and there is an adverse response then that alone should be cause for pause. I am a firm beleiver that anytime you make any life changing decisions there will always be casualties, sometimes these casulaties are obvious and easy but sometimes they are hard and hit closer to home. I remember an interview Oprah did with Carrie Underwood and Carrie was telling her that once she got famous there were good, close friends of her that started acting "weird" and distanced themselves. Oprah said it was the oxygen effect. The higher she rose, people started dropping off because they couldnt take it. This applies to our personal lives as well. Think about that for a moment.

That's an awesome analogy! I think change is a catalyst for good or bad and I just need to embrace it. It is what it is. Also I'm trying not to project into the future, because all it holds is fear.

You should NEVER tolerate disrespect or anger from anyone. No matter how much you weigh. I watch my non-single friends deal with that sh** and I just can't understand why anyone would put up with it. Don't stay together just for your son. Kids always know when there is tension, disrespect, regret, and anger between parents. Much better to raise him separated than together in a negative environment.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
