Jello - It's True

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I just recived a response from TLBC and they have confirmed that the post op diet does include Jello (sugar free).:clap2:

they did re-state the importance of the yogurt and cottage cheese the the function of the bactia culture. :D these are the most important.

i think i'll save the Jello for a time when i really need a different taste.:hungry:

day 4 of pre-op - down 8 lbs. survived relatives cooking supper (oh the smells) - diddn't seem to have any pangs or overwhelming desires.

yippee.

I haven't eaten Jello since 1958 and continue to refuse to do such.

thanks,

yes - it was pre-op that i meant.

i was just kinda exited that i could have a defferent texture and a different flavour.

but thanks.

just curious, why no Jello since 1958? is there something really negative about Jello that we havn't heard about?

just curious.

L

I think Jack invented Jello in 1958 and after all his "test runs" is likely just sick of it!

Anyone pateints of Dr. Coburn have SF Jello during pre-op?

Would be nice to help mix things up.

Andrew

Andrew, I was told only opti-fast, and if I wanted to, a few greens, like celery, lettuce, spinach. I'm thinking they did'nt mean green Jello, lol. Wouldnt hurt to call and find out though.

Thanks, I did not see it in the pro-op package, so I will not eat it. Besides, green Jello sucks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
