Funniest commercial

Recommended Posts

What's the funniest commercial you've seen? Or what do you think the funniest campaign currenty running is? What store/product/service do you think has the funniest commercials?

My parents are absolutely captivated with the Sonic commercials. You know, "Did your body tell you to wear that sweater?" They wait for the next installment like it's a soap. Actually, like it's the Taster's Choice campaign that ran in what... mid 80s? Remember that one?

I like the one running currently - can't remember what it's actually for - but the kid putting on the art show for his parents, who unveils the painting that he titled "mommy and daddy wrestling".

But in general I think IKEA has the best commercials.

Though some of the old Budweiser frog/lizard ones were pretty good.

What are yours?

I like the "Life comes at you fast" commercials by Nationwide Insurance.

I hear the next one they are putting out for the Super Bowl is one featuring K-Fed (Ex - Mr. Britney Spears) starring in his own rap video with a bunch of hotties running around to working in a fast food joint. lmao

I can't wait to see it.

We had a local seafood chain here that had ads were people wearing big fake crablegs danced around singing "We've got crab legs". Made me laugh everytime.

I know there is one running now I like, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

I think those stupid ED commercials are funny. Not the prescription ones, but the ones where the guy has this massive grin on his face.

Do you mean the ones where it's set like a 50s style sitcom?

Man, I've not seen most of these. I need to watch more tv. :speechles

I used to love the Geico commercial where the lady falls in love w/the geico. And she was swinging him around. The commercial was so cute it was funny to me.

Since I have a DVR, I never really watch commercials anymore.

Yep, same here. I don't watch that much tv period, and skip right through all the commercials. For the most part.

Do you find that you try to, or are annoyed that you can't, fast forward through live tv? Or rewind the radio? I HATE that. HARD adjustment to make. :(

Yup, when I go to other people's houses I forget and try to fastforward. I never watch reg tv. I start at least 15 or so minutes behind, except for the news.

I love the Accura commercial it is so funny! It starts with just hearing a sound of someone typing....then it opens on a coffee shop and everyone is at a table using their laptops etc., then it focuses on one guy, sitting at one of those tiny coffee house tables with a very old and big typewriter, typing, and everybody is staring at him, then the voiceover says, "Isn't it time for an Upgrade?

I love the California cows, but I also like the commercial where the kids are dressed as Pilgrims and tell the truth about what happened between the Pilgrims and the Indians. The audience is appalled. I think it's hilarious. But my all time favorite commercial is the superbowl one about herding cats. I can't understand why people like those stupid frogs better than herding cats. I guess they just don't have my sophisticated sense of humor. LOL.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
