ctsleeve 20 Posted September 13, 2013 Hi there - I'm five weeks out from surgery and on soft foods since four weeks. Today for the first time I got a Chipotle bean bowl (no rice) and figured it would last me for a few meals. I got a mix of pinto and black Beans with cheese, guac on the side. I took 1/3 of a cup of the Beans and some cheese and added 2 Tablespoons of plain nonfat Greek yogurt to boost the Protein. Are the beans okay to eat? I'm not even halfway through the 1/3 c I put in my dish, but all of a sudden I got nervous about the bean coverings. Are non-pureed/ non-mashed beans okay on a soft food diet? Thanks! NMJG 1,266 Posted September 16, 2013 I had Beans starting week 3 and no problems. In fact, they continue to be one of my "safe" foods along with tuna and yogurt, that won't make me sick. They've got Fiber, too, which is a good thing to get in with all the Protein and few vegs during this time.

ctsleeve 20 Posted September 22, 2013 I've had good luck with Wendy's chili, as long as I take small bites and chew a lot. I've finished about 1/3 of a small in one sitting. Enjoy! 2 NtvTxn and onedaycloser reacted to this
