elpaso73 66 Posted September 14, 2013 Thanks again for all the support. I wouldn't make it without it. Congratulations' date=' but may I ask what makes the leaks happen?[/quote'] Honestly I don't know what exactly causes leaks. Mine was due to a loose staple. I followed the rules by the book and I was a few days out when it was diagnosed. It is a rare complication, though such a mean and discouraging one. I learned one thing: it will finally heal but you have to keep the faith. Today it is just a bad memory. One more thing: ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. A leak is a life threatening problem if not treated on time.

MIJourney 490 Posted September 14, 2013 You're looking great and younger too I might add! My sleeve sister had a leak also. I know it's a rough start but looks like you're sailing along now!
CrissyRing77 232 Posted September 16, 2013 Wow, you look amazing! I'm sorry you had complications, so scary! Can you explain your symptoms that alerted you of the problem!? Not that the surgeon won't tell me when I have my surgery, but good to know!

The most alarming symptoms are the tachycardia, high fever and extreme left side pain foing from my ribs to my kidneys and upper left shoulder. Believe me the pain cannot be unnoticed. Just keep monitoring your temperature and stay in touch with your doc. Best of luck.
