Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

Recommended Posts

I wanna be like Stella, I wanna get my groove back. I'm cocky, it doesn't take a lot for me to feel like a hot little sex kitten. Hell, by 250lbs, 230lbs I'll feel like the bee's knees. It'll be here soon enough! Haha.

So many:

1. Adding up the weight of everyone in the elevator to make sure I don't push its capacity above limit;

2. Pretending I want to stand up because I can't possibly fit in your plastic lawn chair;

3. Not eating at a function because my dress won't fit post meal;

4. Feeling the fold above my elbow hit the back of my forearm;

5. Underwear rolling down below my belly;

6. Apologizeing for my very existence at the grocery store;

7. Not being sure I am "clean" everywhere;

8. Being the person that by my presence gives everyone else permission to order dessert;

9. Being a non-threat to insecure women!

I like this list. I'm a guy. Let me give a list from that perspective:

1. Having to be the funny one in the group

2. Making fat jokes at my own expense, because that's what I feel like people are thinking anyway.

3.Wearing suspenders under my shirt, so I don't have to pull up my pants all day long

4. Praying I won't need the extension on the plane

5. Trying to spot people fatter than me to make myself feel better

6. Never eating at a work lunch to avoid judgement, Be it real or imagined

7. Being the fattest dad at the ballgame

8. Worrying that my kids and wife are embarrassed by me

Being able to look good in all clothes

Not stand back in the shadow during family pictures

not being the biggest person in the family

being able to eat whatever I want in moderation without all the stares

Walk without breathing so hard.

to love what I see.

I remember a time where a girl I thought I was going to marry left me for a guy 100lbs lighter. I'm not going to miss that crap at all.

She left me for a skinny little guy...maybe one day I'll be the skinny guy in the story.

Wow! That's really interesting man! Hey I don't see a lot of male VSGers.. any reason? :)

I am writing these things down, because I am sure there will be times early post op when I wonder "why did I do this?"

This is why:

1. Having to shop from a limited clothing selection. Eff you , size 20, you suck.

2. The feeling of my fat middle squooshing out when I sit down.

3. swolly feet

4. Feeling like the fattest person in the room

5. Being the fattest person in the room

6. Feeling invisible

7. Feeling self conscious and size conscious

8. My stomach touching the table in a restaurant booth

9. Not fitting comfortably in a movie theatre seat

10. Looking at myself in pictures

11. Feeling ugly

12. Body aches, knee aches, hip aches

13. shoes that used to fit, and now are too tight

14. Low energy

15. Not turning heads

16. Looking in the mirror naked

17. clothes that no longer fit.

18. Not being able to wear my rings

19. Being afraid to run into people I haven't seen in a while

20. Not feeling pretty

Ok, I only wrote 20. I'm sure there are more. Help me out. Why do you never want to go back?

I agree with all the above....woot woot

When I go to a school function all the skinny people looking at me like I have a contagious disease.

I draw blood for a living and not having my stomach touch their hand when I'm drawing their blood.

Not sweating just walking.

Thinking I'm ugly. Lost 64lbs since surgery so far and feel wonderful about myself again!

Not being able to buy jeans that fit all over and not being baggy elsewhere.

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
