Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

Recommended Posts

applesauce was pretty good. SF Jello was better though. I am feeling alot better now that I have slept some. I have been using my wifes body pillow from when she was pregnant with DS. It makes it so I can sleep on my side.

I am not sure how long I slept, I know it was a while cause of how tired I was. They let me go after I walked down the hall the second time. Didn't see a reason to stay any longer cause I have my own personal RN :(

Chris HOW WAS TODAY!!!!!???????

I sure wish you would post more and I am sure gail wishes the same thing. So were you referring to your Mom being the "inhouse" RN or is your wife a RN too?

Tell me how you are feeling please.

I went to see the nutritionist and she told me (reassured me) that some people get a little restriction immed. after procedure but until they get a few fills under their belt, you might feel hungry. I kinda knew this by reading the boards.

The nutritionist at Dr.K's office is VERY impressive with her knowledge and tricks in her bag.

If anybody wants some of these great tricks tell me your fax number and I will fax them to you.

So guess what!!!!

I am getting banded tomarrow March1st at 430pm!

Went into my postop appt w/ Dr.Kozar and we started talking about the procedure and when the optimum time was for a re do procedure and he said really in 7 days or 90 days and the worst time is 4 weeks. His next sentence was: what are you doing tomarrow?

My liver looked like a skinny persons liver during the last procedure so I do not have to bariatrix shake it, so I am eating "my last meal"~tonight at dinner.< /p>

I can have a light Breakfast and then that is it!

As soon as he said I was going back tomarrow I got sick to my stomach and clammy!

Sorry for not posting more.

Today was pretty good. My wife got me some bean and bacon Soup and blended it up. It tasted great but hurt a little going down. I have not had too many gas pains today. Mostly my port area is real sore. I have been doing alot of pacing around, mostly cause I get tired of sitting and needed something to do.

I took tylenol today instead of the scrip and it was OK. I started to get pretty sore so I went ahead ant took my scrip at dinner time.

Felt well enough to go to my Mom's to get her wireless internet working. Spent about 2 hours over there cleaning up her comp. When we went to leave I slipped and fell on the ice and I thought both my wife and Mom were going to pass out! Didn't hurt me at all, just scared the crap out of them.

Tonight for dinner I had Beef and barley soup, blended and a little yougurt with baby food applesauce. tasted great!!

OK, now for the surgery. I would do this again in a second. Pain is not at all bad and the people at SCOR are great! If you have the chance, ask for Dr Mock for the anesthisioligist, he is awsome!!

pam, congrats on the earlier date now, the sooner you get it done, the sooner you get on with the healing. Will be thinking about you tomorow

Chris

Hi there! I live in Reno and am currently waiting for insurance approval to have LB surgery with Dr. Ganser.

I feel I'm pretty well prepared for all the changes the surgery will bring but one... I'm a gulper when I drink.. I have a really hard time taking small sips... but I'm working on it!

No date yet, I hope I hear something next week. Who calls to let you know? I feel like I am always in the dark with this and if I didn't call them no one would ever call me. Jeesh! Thanks for your answer.

Who's your patient advocate? I've got Sarai and she's been great about contacting me!

Sorry I should have read up one more message and 1/2 of my questions would have been answered.

So where in town do you live or work? I am looking for a walking partner

I live out in the north valleys and work for the State. I've got two boys, 16 and 13 who are fabulous, one fiancee (don't get excited, we've been engaged for 7 years) and one dog!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
