Chris,

If you don't find a laptop prior to surgery I will let you use mine, it is about 1 year old but it will do the job for you.

Just keep that in the back of your mind so you don't rush into buying something just because you must have something for surgery day.

Are you spending the night? I am because of sleep apnea

I bet you are on cloud 9. I can remember immediately wanting to schedule vacations after getting the news, I felt like I was finally going to be free and happy and I was walking 10' off the groud. Finally I was going to be successful and normal.

Chris

First let me tell you I Love vegtables and salad.

I love salad with lots of ranch or thousand island dressing. The lemon dressing on top of lettuce just does not have the same texture as ranch.

I have no tricks, but am realizing how much of an emotional eater I am.

Which LT are you looking at?

Pam, I am looking at a couple right now, both 17 inch monitors for watching movies. I have right at a grand so I am pretty limited on what I can find. There is a HP that I really like, but I am not sure if it will still be there next friday when I have the cash to get it. If it is, it is meant to be. If not I will find one.

I had an old Compaq LT that was pretty good, but it caught on fire at work a couple of months ago haha!! It doesn't need to be the best out there I just use it with my GPS, to watch movies, internet, and to download info from my Snowmobile(most important:) )

As for the dressing, have you tried Balsalmic vinager yet? might give it some ZIP.

Gail, ticker looks good now

Thanks Chris. I picked that ticker/picture because it kinda reminded me of Walker Lake. My Avator is a picture of a sunrise looking towards Canoe Hill. There are also some geese flying in the picture, you just can't see them because it is so small.

Good luck to you Chris!

So, where did everyone go today??

Redfred, how did your preop go??

I got my shakes today. I think I am going to start monday with my preop. I know I am going to gain some of my weight I dropped in the next couple of days. My wife insists on making me a few things we are pretty sure I won't be able to have again so I am off my Atkins for now. Not going into details cause I know some of you are on preop:)

I did find my Laptop WAHOO now I just hope it stays there till Friday when I can go and get it! It is a HP Pavillion 9006. 17 inch monitor and all. Guy at the store says he is pretty sure it won't sell becasue it is a XP machine and everyone wants Vista right now. I can't wait

Chris,

That is funny that you mention everybody wants Vista. NOT ME! I was at best buy and they have 2 laptops left with XP on them on clearance.

I am looking for desk tops with xp on them and can't find any anywhere, it must be xp to integrate with our inventory mgmt system at work.

Red is a no show for the last couple days eh?

I ate chinese vegtables Broccolli and cabbage today for dinner. YUM! But I am a huge vegtable eater. I am not a BIG meat eater so Atkins was never an option for me.

So have you tasted the shakes yet?

Why don't you put your laptop on "layaway" or offer a down payment or sort to hold it?

Do you use your GPS to locate the snowmobile or do you do geocacheing?

Gail

Great work and I even love the reasons you picked the pictures, I am such a hopeless romantic.

OH! Take your daughters to see Because I said so with Diane Keaton, I loved it and took my 15 year old, she liked it because we were together BUT did not like it as much as I liked it.

I use it ALOT!! We use it for Geocaching some, hunting, I ride alot of Quads in the deasert and do some mine exploring also. I use it in my truck when we go camping too. My brother says I can't find my way out of a paperbag without it:)

I have 2 right now, but have had up to 4 at one time. Do you Geocache??

I think my Wife wants to go see that movie, I actually like Dianne Keaton. So it should be pretty good.

Chris

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
