Oh my myyyyyyy dinner was so good!

Recommended Posts

This was dinner tonight. I am at 3 months post op and could only eat a few bites of the salad (none of the apple) and a couple of tiny bites of the cheese broccoli but the lobster was so so good. So if you are on a liquid diet at this point take heart because this is in your future and time flies by!

I can't wait for crab legs YUM

I can't wait for crab legs YUM

Also one of my favorites!! I actually think they are very easy on the sleeve as well. :)

I'm only a couple of days post open, sleeved on 9-11. But I can already handle some foods in small amounts. Lite string cheese, Tomato Soup and things of that ilk. I guess my question is, is this normal?

food tastes great to me but my tastes buds have changed. I don't crave sweets like chocolate anymore. I crave healthy foods like chicken and broccoli. Lately I've started craving fruit. I promise you that I never would have said that before my surgery' date=' which was July 26th. Lol[/quote']

I think this would be the best side effect of the surgery for me. My cravings get the best of me!

At first some things tasted a little stronger and 1 or 2 things I no longer like but for the most part my taste has stayed in place. I to however do not crave sweet things any more either. My body does crave the vegetable like crazy more than anything else. :)

That is my hope to crave veggies and fruit after surgery

Yes, it is normal. All doctors have different post op recovery plans some are more lenient and others very strict. Mine was on the lenient side and he sent me home wanting me to start puree within the week and if that went well to move on the mushy foods etc. He was very adamant that he only wanted me trying one new food at a time. Any way I wan eating tuna and broccoli cheese Soup by week 2. Mind you they were very tiny portions like a couple of bites each and I was done but it was good! I never had any troubles with any of my foods. But you should keepwith your doctors orders. I wish you the best of recoveries!! :)
