I will be sleeved on September 20, 2013!!!! I am so ready to start this new healthier life (like my husband said YOU DESERVE to be healthy). I dont know if I'm so moody because I cant eat what i want due to this liquid diet for 2 weeks, the days seems to be going by slow, or if its just normal to feel like this. Since 6:00 a.m. I've yelled, prayed, smiled, frowned, prayed, laughed, cried, and prayed again.

YELLED- my four girls wasn't moving fast enough to get ready for school. Ages 10, 9, 6, & 4. Then my dogs wouldn't stop barking.

PRAYED- Lord thank you for waking me and my family up in our right mind, life health, and strength.

SMILED- Talked to my supportive husband who said I Love You and you will make it.

FROWNED- The receptionist at worked brought me my 8:00 and 8:30 patient back at 8:40 and said I told them they are o.k. knowing my 9:00 is due to sign in at 8:45.

PRAYED- Lord help me!!! Im more than a conqueror!!!!!

LAUGHED- my coach at work thats helping me stick to the 2 week liquid diet starts to dance.

CRIED- I want my husband to be approved to make it to my surgery

PRAYED- Lord make a way even when I dont see the way. Lord you are the way maker. Let these days go by and be with everyone being sleeved!!!!

Have a blessed Day everyone. :)

First of all, congrats on the upcoming surgery! :)

Secondly, my emotions sound just like yours on a daily basis! With removing the need/want for food, I guess all our other emotions are on high! I'm sure part of it is because you're on liquids only right now. Oh lord was I grumpy! I was so angry with everyone because they could eat.. I glared at my family and they ate dinner. UGH. Then I'd get upset at myself for feeling that way, this isn't their fault. I made the choice to start a new chapter in my life.

Just take it one day at a time darling. Keep up the praying ( I say my serenity prayer EVERY morning and anytime I find myself feeling an unwanted emotion). Just pray for patience and guidance. You'll be fine! It sounds like your husband is supportive, that is great and will keep you focused!! :)

Good luck !

Well I am a psycho typically so my results may be skewed but I think for a lot of us food is our comfort, and have abruptly had to abandon it. People dont like to think of themselves as addicts but have you ever been around someone that has just stop smoking cigarettes? Its uncomfortable to do something different, even when its something good for you. Having competing emotions makes sense you are proud of the changes you are making, but that doesnt make it any easier to make them. But I will tell you, if you think your crazy now, wait until post op girl. Then you have all these crazy hormones being released from your fat cells, I cried for like 2 days, over nothing, and I dont cry. Its a wild ride but they say its worth it in the end.

I can relate. I'm still 3 weeks away from starting my pre-op diet but my emotions are crazy! I am definitely a stress eater right now but that is uncharacteristic for me. I ate chocolate cake last night and drank a cup of milk with it. What the hell!? I hate milk! I think I discovered I am lactose intolerant too because my tummy was NOT happy afterward. I have avoided chocolate cake, breads and baked goods in general for years. I stick to whole grains when I do eat carbs but now I'm going all willie nillie on my emotions and eating things I would never have eaten even a month ago. Chili cheese Fritos? Disgusting, but I've been eating them!

Besides this crazy urge to eat foods I normally wouldn't, I go from pure excitement one day to fear and nervousness the next and then anxious today. My stomach is in knots! My husband probably thinks I have a few screws loose lol.

The good thing is I think I've overdone it with the food. I am actually feeling sick of food, no cravings and nothing sounds good. I actually want to start my pre-op diet now because I am so sick of food! I tried to split a steak with my husband last night and had to spit it out. I fed it to my dogs! I hope these nerves subside before surgery so I can just have a peace about it and relax. We shall see....

Your emotions will probably be all over the place for a while. It does not get any easier immediately post-op. But, a few weeks of crazy for a lifetime of healthy seems worth it to me: )

I'm the exact same way. Day 4 of my 2 week liquid diet and I cried earlier for really no reason except I'm just tired. My emotions are all over the place too. :(

I've yelled a couple of times at my hubby during these two weeks of the liquid diet. My surgery is on Monday. I've been cooking hubby's dinner at night and it's driving me nuts. But I've not taken a bite. Hang in there.

Okay, so, I had an appointment with my PC Doctor yesterday and he really put my nerves at ease. He gave me the results of my EKG and said it was normal and all my labs are good except I have elevated cholesterol. He also told me he has many patients who have had weight loss surgery and they all have done quite well. We also discussed some other tests my sleeve surgeon wants and my doctor ordered those. He said I'll do great after surgery and that was good to hear. I was nervous he was going to be against the surgery for some reason and I'm more than happy that I was wrong.

Now I'm just anxious and impatient which is the normal me lol. I also started a video blog so that I can talk about the surgery and my decision and just get things out since I haven't really been talking to anyone about it. Hope everyone is having a good Friday the 13th!

Quinn you are going to do great! You are a saint for cooking your hubby's dinner. I told my husband he is on his own the week before surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
