Is Smoothy King drinks ok for liquid diet?

Recommended Posts

May be stupid questions but I forgot to ask my doc... He has me scheduled or band to sleeve revision oct 25... But I have to do two weeks liquid diet before surgery and 5-6 weeks after (God help me LOL)

Is smoothie King ok? I usually get strawberry kiwi by itself but I'm told they can add Protein to their drinks .... Would this be ok to drink?

Any sugar free liquid should be ok ,for liquid diet. Your just trying to cut sugar and fat content down.

the 20oz strawberry Kiwi Breeze has 90 carbs and cannot be made skinny?! :o

You can get their gladiator smoothie which is the Protein smoothie and add whatever 2 fruits you want. I don't think it has any sugar and maybe just 1 carb. It's a good alternative for me on days when I am very restricted an cant tolerate eating real food.< /p>

I have heard someone else mention the Gladiator is it nasty and something you just have to choke down or is it good? I am such a picky eater my husband while supportive of getting the sleeve thinks I won't survive the Oreos liquid diet hahahahaha

A few have mentioned not being able to tolerate real food... How often does that happen.

And thank you to the person that posted the smooth king info... Great tool (even though it crushes my dream of living off the king... Hahahaha)

Has anyone tried the smoothie king chocolate?

If your doc wants you doing a liquid diet for weight loss prior to surgery, it is usually Protein Shakes, like Premier Protein from costco. Do call and ask your doc. Kim, Band to Sleeve and loving it!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
