Tarami 0 Posted January 18, 2007 I'm new to the community, not banded yet but in the process. I have been to the first doctors appointment, have another appointment with the dietitian and physiologist next week. Tarami
gigi8 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi Tarami and welcome! I haven't been banded yet either. Currently I am on day 2 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for January 30th. I went for my preadmission testing yesterday. Good luck with all your appointments and tests. Keep us posted through your journey.Gigi

dxeln 0 Posted January 18, 2007 :help: How many kinds of tests, etc are necessary to have before the lapband procedure? Also I've looked on this site and can't find any before/after photos, where are the pictures? Thanks, Dixie
Kelsy 1 Posted January 18, 2007 :help: How many kinds of tests, etc are necessary to have before the lapband procedure? Also I've looked on this site and can't find any before/after photos, where are the pictures? Thanks, Dixie Hi Dixie I guess it all depends on your medical history. I had to have an ultrasound (which i think everyone has to have), A breathing test (because of a history w/ asthma - i don't think everyone goes for the breathing test.), EKG, Labs, Psych eval, Nutritionist & MD appointment where he will just do a small check up... And i think that was it. If you go to the homepage on this forum and see where it says "most viewed threads" you'll see the Before and After pictures there or here is the link. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/before-and-after-t4642.html?t=4642
TracyinKS 7 Posted January 18, 2007 Dixie: as Kelsy said... its different for every insurance policy and doctor.. As a general rule here are the common tests.. (noting that you may have to do ALL or NONE) 1. 0-12 months supervised diet 2. Psychologist Evaluation 3. Nutritionist Evaluation 4. Upper GI 5. Blood work to make sure all your levels are normal and I'm sure many more that I don't even know about..... All my insurance required was a psych and nutrition eval.
