Not losing fast and may be pregnant.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had my surgery last November I only have lost about 60 lbs. I have been the same weight for the last 3 months. I know its my fault. I haven't been exercising and I haven't been watching what I eat.

Now its possible I could be pregnant. I still have a week before I test but I feel like I could be.

I would love to be but worried about my weight. I'm 230. I was 8 months pregnant at this weight with my last child. How can I start from here!

Like I said I don't know yet so may be no reason to worry but I'm excited too.

I'm confused...if not I may start trying cuz I'm not getting any younger.

Is that stupid? Idk what happens with my weight loss?

Anyone out there with similar issues or am I weird!?!

Start working out and eating better. Even if you are pregnant it will help you and baby be healthy. Plus working out through pregnancy makes labor a little easier and is supposed to help you recovre faster.

Thanks I did just start working out again these last 2 weeks. I'm just unsure what to think right now.

First let me put your mind at ease a little. I weighed 280lbs when I conceived my daughter in 2008. Plus, I was 38 years old. I had pretty little complications during pregnancy, nothing that effected my child. She was born full term via C-section. ( That was because she had a big head! LOL) My daughter was completely healthy with NO problems. I healed easily from the C-section and by the time I had my 6 week check up I already weighed less than I did when I conceived her!!! ( by a couple of pounds ) So please do not be too concerned about your weight as far as that goes. Eat healthy, get as much exercise as you can stand and try not to worry. And if you are pregnant you can always reinvest yourself in your weight loss after the baby is born. The tool will still be there, just start using it again!

Thank you that is really reassuring!

I will just get back to exercise and if I do end up pregnant at least it will be a healthier one.

I'll keep u updated. Its a week b4 I can take the test.

A baby is a blessing no matter what. It may be scary but in the end everything will turn out fine and that little one will bring you more joy than you could ever imagine. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
