I am very bad at this whole pureed thing. Its gross to me so I just chew the crap out of my food. My husband got a spicy pepperoni pizza from wegmans and I couldnt help myself. I ate the toppings. I can tell you I didnt like it, I felt like it was burning my stomach and crawling back up my throat. I also could not eat all the toppings from the smallest piece in the box.

I know the temptation of it sounds good but as a fellow new sleever and a nurse I'm going to suggest that your new tummy is not ready for something like that

Just asking? No bashing needed!

Did anyone have puréed pizza topping during their 2 week purée diet:)

Hubby ordered a pepperoni pizza during my soft food stage. Since I was scared of eating the crust I took a fingerful of cheese and pepperoni off the top. Purred pizza sounds gross to me. And I went straight from full liquids (4 weeks) to soft foods (4 weeks).

Anything that shouldn't be pureed (pizza, tacos, etc) I didn't eat. Stuff like mashed potatoes, refried Beans, yogurt, etc I ate in the soft food stage.

But that scoopful of cheese and meat sure were yummy!

When I was in the pureed stage, I fixed something that might satisfy your "Italian Food" taste buds.

I used one cup of turkey meatballs (cooked as directed on the package), 1/2 cup pizza quick sauce, and 1/4 cup low-fat ricotta cheese and 1/4 cup chicken broth (to thin everything enough to blend). This will make 4 1/2 cup servings. You can do it one of two ways. Either you can just blend everything together, and keep it in one container, or you can blend each ingredient separately and use four small containers. If you want layers, put a layer of turkey at the bottom of each container, then a layer or ricotta, and finally a layer of the pizza quick sauce. Store in the refrigerator, and heat each one in the microwave when you are ready to eat it. Yummy. Note that your doctor might not allow Tomato products during the pureed stage, so you should check your instructions.

Well the pizza did just find last night:)

I had scrambled egg this morning and got down half of it, I think I stopped just in time, kept burping it, but on the other hand it was tasty!

Tried chicken in a can tonight mixed with puréed salsa...the bomb!! Going to try a bit of white cheese sauce on it tomorrow;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
