CLOTHES, CLOTHES, CLOTHES

Recommended Posts

Okay, this might be totally stupid, but, as someone who has to work I'm very curious as to how everyone has dealt with the loss of weight so quickly. I don't want to sink alot of money into clothes that I might only be able to wear for a month. How did other people deal with losing weight and going down sizes quickly?

Prior to surgery, never in a million years did I think I'd say this, but..... Goodwill! You can buy really cheap shirts and pants, and then get rid of them without any guilt as soon as they become too big.

Have struggled with wight for a while i have a range of things that could help me as a transition to lower weight. I have a lot o dress and most still work after the significant weight loss. The problem is with the suits and jackets, they swallow me whole and bring more attention to my weight loss. I have purchased some new work pants in a size 8. They are a little snug intiially but now they fit fine.

I do have some nice suit in size 12 that I will have to part with. I was trying to save them as they are my favorite suits.

I have been happily shopping my little heart out and taking advantage of sale racks and buying stuff that fits me now and smaller stuff for later.

Believe it or not Macy's, T.J. Maxx, Dillard's, etc. have sales that rival thrift store prices if you look closely at the 70% off racks. I have made some major scores of which I am proud.

Thanks All! I, too, have thought about hitting the sales racks right now and start shopping for smaller clothes. I guess I'm just afraid that I might jinx myself..........lol.....I have failed so many times that I'm afraid of being a failure again.

I am a paramedic and have to wear uniforms, unfortunately the uniform pants we wear cost at minimum $40 a pair which really sucks. Luckily i have been doing this job for 23 years and had bins of old uniform pants i had outgrown over the years in the basement which worked for the first couple of months, now for the last couple months i have been having to buy new pants about every month fortunately since they are uniform i can get away with buying just 1 pair and washing them every day, and i keep the pair 1 size above for if i have incidents that i need a clean pair in a hurry for. As for everyday clothes though i actually am loving the fact that i can buy clothes on sale anywhere, which is so much nicer then before when i couldn't even find my size without ordering and paying top dollar for.

Dresses and "butterfly" tops work for me. Pants with drawstring waist. And thrift shops.
