SarahJean30 33 Posted September 10, 2013 I'm two weeks out from surgery today and I have lost 18lbs since surgery, 43 since the start of my preop liquid diet. I am pretty large so you can't tell much, but today I bit the bullet and joined a gym. I realized that this journey is for me and I'm going to make the most of my tool. I didn't care about what others might have thought about me or that I was sweating my butt off just walking on the treadmill, it was just about me pushing myself to be better. I'd say that is a great victory for me! 7 JP0P, NewSetOfCurves, jsrmanatee and 4 others reacted to this

gmanbat 5,889 Posted September 10, 2013 Anyone at that gym with any class whatsoever will admire your effort and be behind you. The rest don't deserve any attention. When I started out I could barely walk up the stairs. Now I work all day in the Florida sun digging and pushing a wheelbarrow with 20 year olds. A lot of incremental exercise increases went between the 2 extremes. You can do it! With your attitude, you will do it!!! 4 TheRealMeIsHere!, SarahJean30, gamergirl and 1 other reacted to this
Batman 31 Posted September 11, 2013 Anyone at that gym with any class whatsoever will admire your effort and be behind you. The rest don't deserve any attention. I have a friend that tells me I'd rather be looked at as the fat girl in the gym than the fat girl sitting at home not doing anything to fix it. Puts things into a different perspective a little bit. Keep it up, one day at a time! :-) 3 TheRealMeIsHere!, JerseyGirl68 and gmanbat reacted to this
TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted September 11, 2013 AWESOME!!! You will see an increase in energy (throughout the whole day) and notice that things will get easier and you will be able to do more and more as time goes on. You will look back at these early days in the gym, and realize how far you've come in a short time!
