Yesterday was a good day...emotionally and physically.

Today started our with 80z Protein shake. I've been getting in about 6oz but really wanted that 20g of Protein today. I paid for it. I got a pretty good stomach cramp and the rest.

I should just focus on Water but having the protein yesterday made me feel much better.

Emotionally, this morning Im a little down again. Not sure why. I'm so outside my routine I think my mind needs it to recover. But my body isn't ready. I have five kids and it really stinks not being able to play with them physically. That's got me a bit down.

Two more days before I get my staples out. Large would still hurts a lot...makes it hard to sleep. But I go though 24hrs with no pain meds.

Patience is hard...just want my life back. It will come. Thanks for all the support.

PS...not really eating anything yet but doc said we can try cottage cheese at 7 days. Will try Soups and the cottage cheese. My new stomach is so small, Protein drinks completely stuff me. It's hard.

I am also 6 days post op KCSG. I can relate to how you are feeling. It seems I spend all my time wondering if I did the right thing (even though there's no way to go back now lol). I continue to think of long term complications and unknowns of this surgery. I mean, what if something would happen and I lose my entire stomach etc.??? Am I the only one who thinks these things? I have 2 children and want to be here for them.

I wouldn't worry about complications. For me, it's all focus on how this will help me live a longer happier life. Hang in there...easy to go to dark place.

Thanks for your posts. Makes me feel like I'm not going at this alone....having many of the same emotional and physical feelings. Put on my worship music this morning and got my mind in a better place :)

It's tough...out with my family right now and mentally hungry. Seems like it will take forever for me to actually get to eat ANYTHING again. But I know the post op recovery time ( up to 4-6 weeks) is toughest. Never thought I'd be excited about being able to have cottage cheese! That's coming soon! Crazy thing...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
