Pre op diet again! I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS!

Recommended Posts

Let me start by saying this is simply a rant so please forgive me at the start.... I was banded 4 years ago and struggled a great deal to get through the pre op diet. I was miserable then, but I thought to myself, I only have to do this once..... I've had a lot of problems with my band and I'm now scheduled to have a Revision to the sleeve which I'm happy about but "D@&n"! Today is the first day of the pre op diet and I've made it through the day BUT I am a cranky, nasty, baggy BIT&&..!!!!!!!!!

Just needed desperately complain about it!,,,,

Thank you

Hang in there. It's a step towards your sleeve and at the end of the journey, and even through much of it, you will feel awesome and be incredibly proud of yourself for going though it. :)

I did the 2 week Liquid Protein diet twice because the first time my surgery got cancelled because of an emergency...A week later I started all over again....You can do this....it is the easy part..LOL

Hi Poorehouse, my guess is no. It simply doesn't come close to the Protein requirements you need and you need to stay away from sugar as much as possible. So sorry.....

Ok don't LOL but any chance sleevers can drink Carnation Instant breakfast drinks? And NOT the sugar free ones ... Can you drink the regular ones instead if Protein drinks?

I was told you could do the carnation shakes if you did the sugar free kind, and added a Protein supplement. Nestlé makes a packet of unflavored Protein powder that adds 6g (beneprotein), and the carnation and mootopia milk (lactose free milk with 1/3 more protein) put you over the 20g that is suggested per serving. Many like that better because they can't taste the yuck!

Well, I still haven't had to complete the 2 week pre op diet. My surgery has been moved 4 times as I try to get all my final clearances... Had an issue with an abnormal EKG, but all is well and I finally have a surgery date that I truly believe is going to take place. I'm over being upset about the pre op diet.. Having started 4 times now for several days each time, my opinion of the diet has changed. I'll do fine this time because I've come to understand how truly temporary it is. I can dislike what I'm eating/drinking for a few weeks and I can be strong while my body adjusts. So, last pre op diet (hopefully) begins again on Monday....
