For those that have to be on a diet due to insurance, how are you doing? What kind of diet did your NUT put you on? Are you taking it seriously?

I feel like I want to take this time as an opportunity, but this is the exact thing I've always been bad at. I'm going to put my nose to the grindstone, and I know this is self defeating, but it didn't feel like my surgeon was super serious about it. He said he just wanted to use this time to get me used to the way he wants me to eat afterward.

For what it's worth, he wants me on a low carb, low fat diet. That's like.. baked chicken breast every meal, it just feels like it's designed to fail :D

My insurance requires 6 months of supervised diet. Thursday will be my 4 month check in. So far, the only thing she's asked me to do is:

1st month: start tracking everything I eat.

2nd month: pay attention to how much Fluid i'm getting

3rd month: cut out fried foods

4th month: start tracking how many grams of Protein I get in a day, shoot for 60-80.

I've been working on chewing LOTS, eating slowly, smaller bites, and not drinking while I eat (so hard for me).

This month I've lost almost 6 lbs. Hopefully having my sleeve done in December.

My 3rd visit is actually tomorrow and the first month I lost 6pds, but really by accident. During the summer months I always drop weight because I am not hungry. My NUT was so happy. My 2nd month she asked me to track everything I eat and sadly I did not do that due to stress in my life. Could not focus. So not sure what is going to happen tomorrow.

My new life style change meal plan (don't want to call it a diet) is low card, Protein, tunes of fluids (water) and walking. I have done NOTHING in August. I think I may have even put back on some of those 6pds I lost.

I really want to do better at this as I plan to be the healthiest I have ever been in my life after my surgery. So this month, I will take it more seriously.

Good luck on your journey!
