I feel like it's almost too good to be true, in fact I feel like I'm gonna get in the bed and they're gonna bust out laughing and say"you think you're getting away with this"!

I guess I've been fat for ao long and I've made a prison out of my body. The mere thought of being a normal size it completely hysterical. I mean really it's like lane Bryant is going to send me cheesecake and death threats. It's almost to good to be true for me. I know I'm going to lose the weight and I am confident that I can stick to this new lifestyle but my little brain has a quirky imagination.

Also, anyone run into not "having to be nice cuz we're fat" thing to pleae skinny people that think it's ok to walk on us cuz we let them? Have any relationships changed because of it?

Just my random thoughts. I'm kinda going a little crazy with fear of the unknown.

As always thank you for reading ♥ be well

My surgery is nov 25, so I can't tell you what is like yet. But I was wondering the same thing about relationships. I am worried about it alittle. I know of some people that have lost weight and turned into some nasty people, I really don't want that to happen. However, I am looking forward to the confidence I will have after, to change relationships that I already have. Be more outgoing, feel more comfortable around friends and family ect.. I am interetested to see what people that have had success already have noticed.

Hi let's where do I start lol! Yes relationships change. Most of the changes have been positive. A few not so much.... the negative changes were from my friends that are still heavy and still in denial about their size. I have tried every approach...saying nothing about it & when they bring it up offer to do whatever it takes to help them reach their goals. And none of that was enough.... the misery is inside them and that I can't change. As for me all that has changed is my size and energy level.... I am still the happy go lucky person I was before! I feel fantastic and really healthy... best decision ever!

I'm sure some of my relationships will change for better or worse I'm looking forward to all aspects of this process. Either way it goes I'm still winning!!!

I understand fearing the unknown, but in this case, embrace it! I was sleeved 6 months ago yesterday, and I can't tell you all the positive changes this has made in my life. I am actually about 10 lbs under my doctor's goal right now. I am off blood pressure medication. I have no more GERD. I have no more sleep apnea. I no longer get winded going up a flight of stairs. I can keep up with my kids. And, I look better. I didn't tell many people about the surgery beforehand, out of fear of what they would say. I wasn't going to tell people afterwards either. However, a few days after surgery, and I woke up at 5 am and it weighed heavily on my mind. I didn't feel comfortable lying to people. I decided to come clean. Write then, at 5 am, I started writing a long letter that I posted as a note on Facebook. I explained what I had done, what the surgery is, what it isn't, why I did it, how I was feeling. I ended the letter with a warning to people who would possibly be thinking of saying something negative or cracks jokes, not to do it, it wouldn't be taken lightly. I've had nothing but positive reactions from people, saying they were proud of me for taking responsibility for my health. I get questions, because people are curious about things, and I don't mind answering them. This has been one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I have absolutely no regrets. If you're interested in reading the letter I wrote, it is in my blog on this site, one of the earlier postings. Good luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
