Coromega packs are a gel pack. Not a pill at all. You squeeze the gel into your mouth. My cardiologist recommended Coromega' date=' as she has studied fish oils and believes Coromega has the right combination of the most effective fish oils.[/quote']

Oh that sounds way better. I'm going to take the pills back and get the coromega.. Thank you!

Maybe I should just gut it out on the taste. My skin is SO dry I'm all wrinkly and I'm scratching like a monkey.

Hi Gamergirl: try taking something else after the Coromega, like a chewable Vitamin, or Gummy. I take one packet in the am, one in the pm. It really helped with my itchy skin. Benedryl cream helps too.

Game girl.. Thanks for the laugh ( even though being itchy isn't funny) the visual of scratching like a monkey is exactly what I was doing after leaving the hospital. My issue was the pain meds.

I just started taking fish oil, I bought Target's burpless brand and I take it with food. It does not make me burp. The pills are relatively small, about the size of an aspirin.

My NUT recommended a fish oil that's lemon flavored and liquid today. She said to try Walgreens or Amazon.< /p>

I went to Maxx nutrition and they sold me New Chapter whole mega "tiny caps". The recommended dosage is 4 pills instead of 2 of their large caps, but they are very easy to swallow. You couuld google them and see who else sells them if you don't have Maxx.

Whole Foods has liquid Fish Oil' date=' but I found it slimy and couldn't do it.

I use Coromega packs, the orange flavor, from GNC. I take two a day. I don't find it fishy, but I know others do. I do always follow my Coromega with a chewable multi Vitamin from Bariatric Advantage, or caramel Calcium chews also from BA.< /p>

Fish oil is good for your cardio vascular system, and will help you keep your hair. I increased my intake to 2 packs a day when my skin started to itch. It has really helped.[/quote']

I went back to GNC and exchanged the horse pills for the Coromega yesterday. The color of it sort of grossed me out, probably more because I was expecting a clear gel like substance, but since I paid I made myself try it. It wasn't bad at all! Thank you for the recommendation.

Would it hurt to take 2 packets a day from the start?

I actually don't ever look at the Coromega gel. I just squeeze it right from the packet into my mouth.

You are post-op, right? If you are pre-op, don't take until after surgery as it is a blood thinner. I am fine with two packets a day. You can try it and if you start to have loose stools ( and if that's a problem), you could cut back.

Hope it helps you.

I'm 3 weeks pre-op so I will stop taking it. I would hope that is enough time to get it out of my system. Oh boy

Some peopel were told that gummies need to stay in our stomachs longer than they do in sleeved stomachs to be properly absorbed. I've tried googling this and I can't find anything to support it.

Ultimately I think Vitamins do no good if you don't take them some long as I keep taking the gummies, I think they're better for me than the pills I don't take :)

Doctor told me to discontinue it along with Advil 2 weeks before surgery.

Good luck in your journey. It's going to be amazing!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
