Batman 31 Posted September 9, 2013 Are all fish oil pills the size of my head? Are these ok to take after you are sleeved our will they get stuck? I went to GNC on the recommendation if another thread to get the orange ones (forgot the brand name) and the girl convinced me to buy the store brand because they "had more per pill and were buy one get one half off". I got a box of the pills and a bottle of the liquid for when I can't take pills right after being sleeved. I didn't realize the pills were so big until I got them home and opened them. Do I need to take these back?

gamergirl 4,610 Posted September 9, 2013 I bought some Coromega's packets from Amazon but they are going back because they have a very fishy after taste, although the reviews swore they didnt. Even though I'm confused about how to translate doses of fish oil to krill oil, I'm going to take krill oil instead because the pills are so much smaller. I can't imagine swallowing the fish oil which used to make me nauseated even pre-op. ugh.

I know people are taking fish oil after being sleeved so either these huge pills are ok or I'm way off track on what I'm buying.
LouiseC 1,031 Posted September 9, 2013 I have yet to see a fish oil pill that isn't huge. But I take them all with no issues.

cindymg 629 Posted September 9, 2013 Whole Foods has liquid Fish Oil, but I found it slimy and couldn't do it. I use Coromega packs, the orange flavor, from GNC. I take two a day. I don't find it fishy, but I know others do. I do always follow my Coromega with a chewable multi Vitamin from Bariatric Advantage, or caramel Calcium chews also from BA. Fish oil is good for your cardio vascular system, and will help you keep your hair. I increased my intake to 2 packs a day when my skin started to itch. It has really helped. cindymg 629 Posted September 9, 2013 Are the coromega packs smaller than a standard fish oil pill? I definitely want to take a fish oil. Coromega packs are a gel pack. Not a pill at all. You squeeze the gel into your mouth. My cardiologist recommended Coromega, as she has studied fish oils and believes Coromega has the right combination of the most effective fish oils. Gamergirl we've had this conversation before... Your thyroid really doesn't sound like it is operating properly. It could be another hormone too if you are entering menopause, but sounds an awful lot like hypothyroidism - incompletely treated - to me.

It could be another hormone too if you are entering menopause, but sounds an awful lot like hypothyroidism - incompletely treated - to me. I just got blood tests so will wait to see what the thyroid says. I'm already on testosterone and progesterone, and my estrogen levels seem fine. I suspect it's because of the really low fat intake in our diets, but intend to ask about the t3/t4 levels.
