I was in the mood for wheat thins and I read on the pack that serving size is 16 pieces for 140 calories. I actually counted 16 pieces exactly and closed the package. What is happening to me? Whatever it is, I'm in love. That would never happen to me b4 the surgery. I'm so proud of myself and my little stomach. By the way, I didn't finish the wheat thins after all. I'm 3mos post op and 44lbs down which is not much in my eyes but I console myself with all the inches lost. Also went from size 24 to 20. Love my sleeve.

When is the last time you lost 44lbs in 30 days with or without an illness? Be happy for your lose, you have lost a lot more than others including myself did in that period of time. Be happy for the huge amount you lost and enjoy the ride. Everyone feels that after surgery you are going to lose 1/2 the weight you need to almost instantly. That's not going to happen. It takes a bit of work and a little time. Good luck to you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
