My favorite food is crab its the only meat that I can tolerate. Soups are my friends. I just purchase my 1st ever pair of sixe 6 jeans. Not just jeans they are red jeans from Costcso. I got them for $14.99.

I can tollerate most foods. I have to limit Pasta as it is so dense I feel really full from it. Now that I'm healed, nothing "gets stuck" anymore. I feel great which is wonderful. Had an infection in my incision initially so I didn't feel great for serveral weeks. The weight loss seems to come in waves - wish is was more consistent but beggers cannot be choosers. I"m down 47 pounds since I started the liquid diet 2 weeks before my surgery!

I mostly feel great. I can eat pretty much anything but choose not to eat bread, rice or Pasta. No nausea, no vomiting, just eat small portions. My favorite things to eat are white cheese (can't do yellow anymore), any meat, and fresh fruits though those are very limited. I also like nuts, but those are just treats. If i cant find anything to eat my go-to is a 1/4 cup of oatmeal mixed with a tablespoon of peanutbutter. I'm working out 3x a week, doing the C25K program. I've gone from a size 22-24 to a baggy-ish 16 (but I don't have any 14s so I'll be stuck at 16 until I fit in my 12s). My next goal is to be down 100 pounds (just 9 more to go!), then to be under 200 (just 13 to go!)

I am at 4 months out today and feeling really good! I started working really long hours recently

And that has taken some of my workout hours, but I'm working with kids and move ALL DAY, so I think it's okay for now. My hair is falling out in handfuls, but seems to be slowing slightly.

Awesome! !! What exercises are you doing?

I do a lot of walking, help my fiancé, who is a landscaper, move rocks and dirt, dance and Zumba on my Xbox, and spend all day with kids so I am active all day!

I had surgery on May 20th ... I feel great! Love my sleeve :) Every meal has tons of Protein ... I still have a hard time with liquids :( .... Exercise is super hard because I work and go to school full time.... I weigh my self every Monday, some Mondays are better than others (between 1-3 lbs)... I've been shopping for new tops and I love it! No more plus size section! :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
