Not having a bowel movement is completely normal - I think mine came at 6 or 7 days out. If you're concerned, add some Miralax to your Water to see if that helps move things along. :)

As for the pain while drinking, that's definitely not a good sign. How painful is it? Regardless, I'd recommend you call your doctor as soon as possible to run it by him/her. A prolonged pain is nothing you want to mess with post-op!

If in doubt check it out! Call Dr.

I had pain too, I started taking Gas X and the gas pain went right away, I took one a half hour before every meal, it was a blessing. Try it.

My doc has a 24-hour "bariatric surgery" 800 number that's for any and all questions. If you have a similar number, call it and ask--I think that's the best thing to do if you're having pain and not sure.

You are probably taking too big of sips. That happened to me for a while, and still does sometimes. Gas x definitely helps if it is gas pain that you are having. As for the bowel movement, as long as you are passing gas everything is fine, that means things are moving along. It is normal to not have bm's for a while.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
